Bouquet
A deeply complex nose leaps out of the glass with red fruits, baking spice and a hint of Kalamata olive.

Palate
The vibrant palate starts with dark plum notes and shaved saucisson, then finishes with a lick of sweet fruit and a touch of leather.

Growing Conditions
Lower than average rainfall resulted in a long dry growing season for the Clare Valley in 2018. However the old, unirrigated vines of Wendouree thrived and produced fruit of immense quality. With disease pressure low, fruit was able to ripen to full maturity resulting in a deeply flavoured and complex wine.

"From low-yielding and dry-grown vines in Clare Valley. Intensely rich and dark fruited. Whoa. This has some get-up-and-go. Choc-cherry, touches of mocha, a whiff and lick of Aussie bush in there, a dash of mint, some pepper, sprinkles of sweet cinnamon and smoky clove. There's an uplifting feel to the wine despite the wonderful generosity of flavour, the bubbles coursing with energy and tightness, another balancing act in the wine. It nails down the style, delivers something outstanding and vividly delicious."
