- Description
The Reserve Pinot Noir is sourced from our five preferred clones on the estate, with the 2022 blend made up of D5V12 (90%) and Martini (10%).
- Bouquet
Dark blue fruits, Campari and Italian herbs. Star anise, licorice and bitter chocolate sit in the background.
- Palate
Immediately more powerful, the dark fruited palate is tight and structural. Initially closed, the dark fruits start to flourish amongst the concentrated and complex palate. The tight fine tannins and pure acid line integrate beautifully with the oak, resulting in a wine that shows well now but its best will be revealed after a few years in the cellar.
- Growing Conditions
Reduced yields from the 2022 harvest were the result of poor fruit set due to a cold spring. This turned out to be a blessing, with a cool summer pushing the majority of our harvest into the last week of March and early April. Ripening of the small berries and bunches were long and slow which resulted in wines with intense colour, flavour, concentration and structure.
- Food Pairing
Traditional French cassoulet.

Professional Reviews
Ned Goodwin MW“The denser pinot of the suite, yet fleet of foot and deft of touch, with well-judged cinnamon oak enveloping rhubarb, damson plum, compote, cola and bergamot. The tannins are lithe and more svelte than those of its compadres yet tactile and nicely pliant, shapeshifting across a mid-weighted palate. The finish, long and effusive. This should age nicely across the mid-term. The growing trajectory of flavour is irrefutable, if not a bit light on.”

Huon Hooke"Medium full depth of red-purple colour; fresh herb aromas overlying red fruits and hints of Campari and root vegetable, some anise and fragrant spices. The palate is elegant, tense and fine, with a long, long carry. Not a big pinot but intense and driving and full of energy. Lovely balance, a seamless, effortless wine."
